I just read an article about a Chicago teacher who loves her job. No, I mean she really loves her job. In March, she will turn 100 years old and has been teaching for 77 years after starting in 1935.
When asked if she plans to retire at the age of 100, Olivia Neubauer says she has no intention of stopping until the Lord tells her to quit and from the sound of it, that won’t be anytime soon. Now that’s a lady who loves her job and has a strong faith.
Her story reminds me of what Isaiah said; “The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary.
29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
31 yet those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:28-31).
So, keep on keeping on! (John West)
