John 10:30, I and the Father are one.
John 14:6, Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Last Sunday, I delivered a message entitled “Is Jesus Really God?” To truly know Jesus, we must first learn from those who knew Him well. Jesus’ life and claims were radical. They reveal a different sort of character and deserve our attention. Suppose that your neighbor began to claim to be a prophet of God. Suppose he also claimed to have the power to forgive sins, and he receives worship. What would you think?
When we examine the life of Jesus, we see that He washed dirty feet and healed the sick, but even more than that, He claimed He actually is God. He said in John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.” Jesus also said He was the way, the truth and the life who leads to salvation (John 14:6). His message was radical to say the least. When Jesus was crucified, His disciples scattered in fear. However, after they saw Jesus after His resurrection, they began to spread the word. Many of them paid the ultimate price and died for that confession. So, is Jesus God? Jesus said He was God, and the boldness of His followers after His resurrection said, yes!
Think about it…and have a blessed day!
