Explore God: What Is The Bible? (Part 1) – October 19, 2015

2 Timothy 3:16, All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Recently, I have been in a message series titled, ‘Explore God.’  Sunday’s sermon was titled, “Is The Bible Reliable?” Before I even address the reliability of the Bible, I wanted to remind you that the Bible is the Bible is a collection of books, of varying genres, all focused on the mystery of God and His relationship with His creation. One writer put it this way, “The Bible is not an ordinary book that reads smoothly from cover to cover. It’s actually a collection, of books written by different authors in several languages over several thousand years Its books are ‘shelved’ by type and topic, just as in a public library: the Law, History, Poems, Wisdom Literature, the Prophets, the Life of Jesus, Letters to Churches, and Apocalyptic descriptions of the past, present and future.”

The Bible is the best-selling, most read book of all time. More than that, the Bible itself claims to be the written and revealed word of the living God. Join me tomorrow, as I continue this topic.

Think about it…and have a blessed day!
