Ladd Anderson, a 10-year-old leukemia patient, was contacted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation and given the opportunity to request a wish. Much to the surprise of everyone, young Ladd said he wanted to be a “Soldier for a Day” so he could serve his country. The United States Army Reserve gave him this opportunity.

What a great wish and a powerful example set for each of us.  In the same way, Jesus could have requested anything He wanted. He could have made a wish, but instead, Jesus chose a different path and said, I “…did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give my life as a ransom for many.”

So, as you make your journey today, think about the unselfish lesson we can learn from a young man with leukemia who only wants to serve his country…or consider the generosity of the son of God who truly came to offer his life as a ransom for many.

Have a blessed Day!
