1 John 1:9:  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.James 5:16Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

I believe that confession is one spiritual discipline which we often do not practice. The reason we tend to ignore it is because we don’t really understand confession or we are afraid of what others will think of us.

One of the beautiful things about the Gospel is that Jesus knows everything about us, and He still loves us…even to the point of death. We all have struggles in our walk, and we all fall short in our obedience. This is the whole point of the Gospel…we could not, so Jesus did. The reason we are called to confess our sins is for healing and freedom from that sin.

In Ephesians 5:11-14 it talks about exposing the shameful acts we do with the light (Christ), so we can be awakened from our sinfulness. Do you confess your sins to God and someone you trust? Healing from our sin is available through Christ. If we will be faithful to do the things God has asked of us, He will be faithful to transform our lives.
