There are some specific personality traits that employers look for when they hire. The top three qualities employers at all levels say they seek the most are: professionalism (86%), high-energy (78%) and confidence (61%).
Surprisingly, the number one aspect most potential and present employers look for is “cultural fit.” In other words, does this employee or will this potential employee be a fit in our company? Does this employee or will this employee be professional, work hard and inspire others around him/her? When the truth is told, none of us is perfect but we can each improve. So, if you are looking to get a job or advance in your current position, consider these words from Solomon who said, “Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise.”(Prov. 19:20)
One of the best ways we can improve in life is to ask others (whom we trust) what we can do to better ourselves, and then we must be willing to implement those changes. Open feedback might just be the difference between getting a job or not. Willingness to make some changes may determine if you get promoted in your current company or get looked over for potential career advancements.
We are never too old or too young to listen, learn and live life to its fullest. Don’t be stubborn and stagnant- be sensible and successful.
