Have you ever noticed that some things are so simple and yet so profound?
Last year, Andy Rooney of 60 Minutes passed away. He started with 60 Minutes in 1978, at the age of 59, when most people are considering retirement, but for the next 33 years, he took his seat in front of the camera to deliver his “60 Minutes” essay.
In Rooney’s final essay, he proudly stated that “I probably haven’t said anything that you didn’t already know or have not already thought,”
And, the truth is- he was right…Most of the time Rooney would croon about the simple things like:
-Nothing in fine print is ever good!
-Potato chip bags are misleadingly big compared to the product they contain.
However, behind every one of Rooney’s simple essays was a profound truth…that was easily recognizable.
The Psalmist had the same thought…when he looked around and said, “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?”(Ps. 8:1-4)
But God does take Care of us and He loves us!
This is a simple but life-changing truth.
