John 11:25, Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die…”
At Cottonwood Creek, I’ve been in a teaching series entitled, “The Case For Christ.” At its core, Christianity has always been about evidence. In John 11:25, Jesus said, “…I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die.” Death is all around us. In that verse, Jesus said, that if we have faith in Him, then even death can’t ultimately defeat us. How can we believe those words? We love that thought, but how can we believe that death can’t defeat us? Remember what we learned earlier, Christianity has always been based on the evidence.
There is no doubt that it is a historical fact that Jesus died on a Roman cross, but how can we be sure He rose from the dead? The evidence says He rose from the dead. The empty tomb, the witnesses who saw Him after His resurrection, the change in the disciples who had scattered in fear when Jesus was crucified but after His resurrection they were courageous even to the point of death. Those are just some of the evidences for the resurrection.
Think about that…and have a blessed day!
