John 4:13, Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
At Cottonwood Creek, I’ve been in a teaching series entitled, “The Case For Christ!” The beauty of Christ is that He was always interacting with people on their terms. In John 4, Jesus meets a woman at the well. This woman was anything but perfect. She had been through many broken relationships and was currently living with a man who was not her husband. She was an outcast even in her own home town which is why she was at the well by herself. But Jesus didn’t judge her or point out her sin. Instead, He offered her living water. To this broken woman, Jesus said in John 4:13, “…Everyone who drinks this (physical) water (from the well) will be thirsty again, 14but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become … a spring of water leading to eternal life.”
The refreshing water that Jesus offered that broken woman at the well over 2,000 years ago, was grace that leads to eternal life. The truth is, He is still offering that same refreshing grace-filled water today, and so should we. If you are broken today, remember the grace-filled living water of Jesus. If you encounter someone who is broken, offer them living water.
Take care and have a blessed day!
