Forget the Puzzles, exercise is a better mental work out!
The Bible reminds us, “…physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”(1 Tim 4:8)
A new study recently released in the “Journal of Neurology” stated that, “Regular, physical exercise appears to protect the brain from shrinking as we get older, and conversely, mentally and socially stimulating activities long believed to stimulate the brain, had no major effect on preventing brain shrinkage.”
For years, it has been believed that we need to keep our minds active as we age in order to ward off the effects of age on the brain’s overall size and functionality. However, this study found that the best thing we can do to protect our brains as we age is to exercise.
So, for today- add some physical exercise to your routine. But for eternity, add some spiritual exercise…after all, it is the only exercise that pays off in this life and the one to come.
Have a blessed Day!
