Hi, this is Justin Frazier, Associate Pastor at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church with your Inspirational thought of the day.

Can I ask you a question?  Are you more like a motor boat or a sail boat?”

Allow me to clarify: when it comes to spiritual issues in your life, are you more like a motor boat, which relies on its own limited power supply to push through the oceans of this world —or like a sail boat, which taps into God’s endless power center and allows His will to propel you through this life?

Of course, the “ideal” answer is the sail boat. We should all be so tapped into God and sensitive to His Spirit’s leading that our relationship with and service to Him is almost effortless. And yet, if we’re honest, we must admit that we all grow tired and weary from time to time.

Isaiah 40:28-31 says:

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

This verse reminds me that it is only out of the overflow of our own relationship with God that we are able to serve Him and love others. My prayer for you today is that you learn how to hoist your sails and soar with wings like eagles!

Have a blessed day!
