Hi, this is Ryan Ross, Missions Pastor at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church with your inspirational thought of the day.
I know for some of you this will sound crazy, but I hate cilantro. To me it has a bitter taste that ruins the whole meal.
Bitterness is a contagious poison that quickly spreads. This is why the bible warns believers to: “See to it that no ‘root of bitterness’ springs up and causes trouble…”
Bitterness always causes trouble. We must fight against this negativity and pursue peace, holiness, and righteousness.
From day to day, little shoots of bitterness can spring up in our lives, and just like we do with weeds, we must kill the root. The best way to kill bitterness is to rejoice. Bitterness leads to death; joy leads to life. So remember another instruction from scripture today as well.
“Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, rejoice!”
