My guess is that each of us at one point or another thought, “If I won the lottery, life would be great!” And, most of us would answer the question – “Do you want to be a millionaire?” with a resounding “YEAH!” However, I recently read a story about Wild Willy – a simple South Carolina man who won the lottery. When he accepted his winnings last year, he said, “We are Happy, Happy, Happy!” However, in a recent interview, Wild Willy remarked, “We just want our old life back!” In other words, money does not always buy the happiness you think it would.
In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul said the same thing. He wrote, “For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out of it.” But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
As you think about that, put money into perspective today – it does not guarantee happiness. The greatest happiness you can ever find will be with your friends, your family and your relationship with God.
Have a blessed day!
