A recent study conducted by Ladders, an online job-matching site, investigated the power of a name. The company crunched the numbers in its database of over 6 million career professionals to determine the top names for corporate executives as well as the highest earners. Throughout the study, one specific name was not as significant as the length of a name. The research concluded that the optimum name contained 5 letters. If you have a name with 5 letters or fewer in it, you were more likely to be a top earner. At the same time, if your name was more than 5 letters, you lose about $3,600 in annual salary per letter.
The most powerful name I know corroborates this finding- JESUS! The New Testament opens this way, “… behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife… She will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:20-21).
Five letters: an amazing birth, a short but perfect life, a brutal death, a victorious resurrection, an eternal sacrifice.
Now that’s a name above all names- worthy of our praise and honor today!
Think about it, and have a blessed day!
