Parades, Pilgrims, And Poultry – November 23, 2016

Psalm 107:1, Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.

As we enter the Thanksgiving season, we will be celebrating with friends and family, typically eating very well and watching football games while others look for great deals in the stores. It’s a great time in American life as we observe parades, pilgrims, and poultry.

We may overeat, which is bad for us, but did you know that expressing gratitude is good for you? Recent studies at the University of Texas Health Science Center led the researchers to conclude that “a growing body of research shows that gratitude is truly amazing in its physical and mental benefits.” An old saying goes like this, “If you can’t remember the language of gratitude, you can’t be on speaking terms with happiness.” Science has proven that there is an inverse relationship between depression and gratitude, so it’s in our own self-interest to have an attitude of gratitude.

Let’s stay on speaking terms with happiness, like the bible says in Psalm 107:1, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.”
