Recently, the most amazing feat pulled off at a Major League game took place in the stands and not on the field. A Cincinnati Reds Baseball fan caught two home run balls from back to back hitters. The feat has been done before, but the odds of it happening are pretty rare.
What is more impressive is that the fan who caught the balls did not keep either one. He gave the first home run back to the player who hit it because it was his first home run in the major leagues. He gave the second home run ball to his friend who actually gave him the ticket to the game.
Now, most of us will never be lucky enough to catch two home run balls in our lifetime, but the Bible does tell us about a “pair” of good things that that we can keep. In one of my favorite Psalms, David says, “Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
God’s goodness and mercy: and the best thing about that pair is that you do not have to give them away! His blessings, wisdom, provisions, forgiveness, and the gift of salvation are yours to keep.
Have a Blessed Day!
