Recently, a 41 year-old man in northern Brazil shocked his family by showing up to his own funeral. It seems that he had been mistakenly identified at the local morgue, causing his family to make funeral plans.
On the day of the scheduled funeral, a friend of his ran into him in town and told him of his “own death.” He immediately went to the funeral to clear up the confusion.
When reporters interviewed his mother, she said, “Those attending the wake fainted and others fled…it was a fright.” Then she said, “…but I’m very happy!” The son she thought was dead turned up alive.
Those words remind me of what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians. He said, “…you were dead in your transgressions and sins… But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ…”(Eph 2:1-5)
Now that is something that each one of us can celebrate! Through God’s Love, He made each of us alive through faith.
Think about it, and have a blessed Day!
