You Must Review What You Already Have – May 3, 2017
Mark 6:38, “How many loaves do you have?” He asked. “Go and see.” When they found out, they said, “Five—and two fish.”
John 6:6, He asked this only to test him, for He already had in mind what He was going to do.
I am currently teaching a sermon series called “Building A Great Life!” As we attempt to build a great life, sometimes we need God to perform a miracle in our circumstances. Mark 6 shows us perhaps the most well-known miracle, and it is the only miracle of Jesus that is told in all four Gospels. Jesus fed 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish. This week’s blogs will focus on different ways you can prepare for a miracle in your life.
One step to preparing for a miracle in our lives is to review what we already have. Remember, the disciples wanted Jesus to send the people away to go buy their own food, but Jesus said, “Wait, before we send the people away, tell Me how much food you have.” When the disciples took inventory of food supplies, they could only find five loaves and two fish, not nearly enough to feed five thousand people. However, it was enough for Jesus to perform an incredible miracle.
If you need a miracle today in your life, review what you already have. It might not be enough to solve the problem, but it might be enough for God to perform a miracle in your life.
Think about it and have a blessed day!

Mark 6: 34-44
34 So as He stepped ashore, He saw a huge crowd and had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. Then He began to teach them many things.
35 When it was already late, His disciples approached Him and said, “This place is a wilderness, and it is already late! 36 Send them away, so they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages to buy themselves something to eat.”
37 “You give them something to eat,” He responded.
They said to Him, “Should we go and buy 200 denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”
38 And He asked them, “How many loaves do you have? Go look.”
When they found out they said, “Five, and two fish.”
39 Then He instructed them to have all the people sit down[k] in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat down in ranks of hundreds and fifties. 41 Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke the loaves. He kept giving them to His disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 Everyone ate and was filled. 43 Then they picked up 12 baskets full of pieces of bread and fish. 44 Now those who ate the loaves were 5,000 men.
