The Bible says, “…Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”(Hebrew 10:24)
In these last Olympics, Manteo Mitchell broke his leg during the 4 by 400 meter relay.
He said, “I got out pretty slow, but I picked it up. When I got to the 100-meter mark it felt weird. As soon as I took the first step past the 200-meter mark, I felt it break. I heard it. I even put out a little war cry, but the crowd was so loud you could not hear it. I wanted to just lie down, but I did not want to let my three teammates down, so I just ran on.”
After the race, the doctors confirmed that he had broken his left fibula during the event. When asked how he finished so well on a broken leg, Mitchell confirmed, “I was spurred on by my teammates waving me in to the line.”
Look around today; if you see someone hurting, spur them across the finish line. Or, maybe you are running with one of life’s limps…keep running, push through the pain and experience the victory on the other side of the line!
Have a Blessed Day!
