Explore God: What Is Sin? – September 29, 2015

Romans 3:23, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 5:12, Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned…

Sunday, I asked and answered the question, “Why Does God Allow Pain And Suffering?” We must examine SIN as we “Explore God.”  Sin came into the world through the rebellion of mankind against God. Sin is defined as any thought, word, or action that is contrary to God’s perfect standard. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” It was not just Adam and Eve who sinned or other people we know who sinned, it’s us too, and sin brought with it pain, suffering and even death. Read these words from the Bible, “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.” Therefore, it was sin that brought about all the pain and suffering, because pain and suffering was never God’s will.

So why does God allow pain and suffering? Because He allowed us to make our choice to obey or disobey Him, now that’s true love… But, here’s the good news. In spite of sin, we still reflect the glory of the Creator. We still have the potential to do great good, even in a sometimes painful world.

So do some good today, and have a blessed day!
