A Dallas woman topped the list with almost $180,000 in unpaid tolls. While she is the worst offender, she is not the only offender who owes more than $100,000. There are apparently at least 21 other drivers whose neglected payments have amassed way beyond the normal late fee.
As I thought about the unpaid fines, I wondered how/if the guilty toll violators will possibly be capable of paying their $100,000 plus fines legally owed to the North Texas Toll Authority. If it were me, I simply would not be able to pay the penalties.
It is that same way with sin; we have no ability to pay for the sin in our lives that separates us from God. This is why Romans 6:23 offers such comfort when it says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ” (Romans 6:23).
In other words, the Bible says, we are not capable of paying the toll for our sin, but luckily we do not have to because Jesus did that for us 2,000 years ago on the cross.
Think about it, and have a blessed day!
