Have you noticed that we Americans are a superstitious group? While most people worry about health, family, and money, some people agonize over silly superstitions:
-Some people don’t walk under ladders because they think it is bad luck.
-Some people get nervous when a black cat crosses their path.
-Others believe breaking a mirror will doom you to 7 years of bad luck.
-Some do not open umbrellas inside because it brings bad luck.
While those are all negative views of luck, we also have as many positive views on luck.
-“Knocking on wood” brings good luck.
-“Wearing a Rabbits foot” brings protection.
-“Picking up a penny that is heads-up” can cause something good to happen to you.
and crossing your fingers is a sign of hope.
Fortunately, the Bible says we don’t have to live our lives based on superstition and luck. It says, “The LORD gives wisdom and from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding” for living (Proverbs 2:6).
So today don’t just cross your fingers and hope for the best. Instead look in God’s Word and seek the Best!
Have a Blessed Day!
