The Promise Is For All The Days Of Our Lives – July 1, 2016
Psalm 23:6, Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
This month I have been teaching a series titled, “Faces of Grace!” I titled it “Faces of Grace” for a simple reason; we all need grace. Each and every one of us needs grace; we are the faces of grace.
Psalm 23, is probably the most well know Psalm of them all. We hear it, we quote it, and we love it. But do we ever stop to really think about it. Psalm 23:6 says, “Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Did you read that first word, “Surely”? Surely, not maybe, not perhaps, not possibly, it’s surely. Surely, God’s love and goodness will follow me. But it doesn’t just follow me for a minute and it doesn’t follow me for an hour or even a week or a month. No, surely “God’s goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.” Not most days or some days of my life. No, God’s love and goodness and mercy follows me “all the days of my life.”
When it comes to God’s grace, we do not have a maybe, a perhaps, or a hopefully. We have a promise, and that promise is that His grace will follow us all the days of our lives.
Think about that….I hope to see YOU this Sunday in church. Have a grace-filled weekend!
