In 1932,  Emelia Earhart made her historic trans-Atlantic solo flight in just over 14 hours and in 1935 she became the first woman to fly from Hawaii to California. Then in 1937, Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, began their journey to circle the globe.

During this attempted journey, their twin-engine Lockheed vanished somewhere in the South Pacific never to be found. Recently, the State Department announced plans to join a new effort to find the missing plane. I hope they find it this time.

While, I don’t know if they will be successful in finding Earhart’s plane, the story does remind me of God’s continuous search for us and His invitation for us to search for Him.

God said, “You will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”(Jeremiah 29:12-13)

Now that’s a search that always pays off!
