Hebrews 6:19, We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…

In today’s ever-changing culture, it’s not uncommon for us to feel insecure about our future. It

seems like every time I turn on the news, I see another tragedy, or another war or the financial

markets are crashing. It just seems like nothing is secure in this world. However, the Bible says,

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, both firm and secure…”

In Bible times, Roman ships carried anchors much like the ships of today. Those anchors had

two teeth on them that would hold the ship firmly anchored to the bottom, while the wind blew

across the surface of the water. That same thought can hold true for you today. If you place

your hope in God, you will be like a ship anchored to the bottom that can withstand the waves of

doubt and stormy trials of life. If you are faced with some doubt, or are facing trials today, place

your trust in Christ. He is the only anchor that will hold you both firm and secure.

Think about it…and have a great day!
