Recently, minor league baseball player Raul Mondesi, Jr. smacked a curveball over the fence for what looked like a game-tying 10th inning home run. However, after rounding the bases, he forgot to touch home plate. In fact, he missed it by about 8 inches.

An appeal was made and Mondesi was called “out!”

For all the effort and all the good he did, it counted for nothing at the end of the day. He had hit a curveball out of the park. Then he touched 1st, 2nd and 3rd base, but he forgot the most important step—touching home, and it cost him and his team the win.

So often in life, we touch the metaphorical bases of activities: chores, work, friends, family, good deeds, and a myriad of other things; however, we forget to focus on the main thing: loving God with all our hearts.

Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind” (Matt 22:37). So, after you have rounded the essential bases of life today, do not forget to take the most important step, Love God with all your heart in all you do, say and think. That is definitely the most important step you can take today.”

Have a Blessed Day!
