Face Your Problems – September 2, 2016

Psalm 37:4, Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 40:2, He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

Over the past few weeks at Cottonwood Creek, I’ve been teaching a series titled, ‘Navigating Life’s Journey God’s Way!’ Last Sunday, we looked at the prophet Elijah from the Old Testament. One of the reasons why I love the story of Elijah is because the Bible says Elijah was a man just like us. In other words, he experienced all the ups and downs, just like we do.

One time when Elijah was hiding out in a cave and running from his problems, God encouraged him to get out, be strong and get back in the battle. One of the reasons why God encouraged him to do that is because Elijah could empower others to do the same. And that’s exactly what happened. When Elijah came out and faced his problems, there was a guy named Elisha that began to follow him. Elisha was empowered by Elijah’s strength. So today, if you want to have an impact on someone else, don’t hide in a cave!

Think about that and have a blessed weekend!
