Gallup recently reported that those who attend church “regularly” are generally happier than those who do not. The research found that the general happiness of individuals was greatest on Sundays after they attended worship. Then, throughout the week, those who were regular church attenders also reported more positive emotions and fewer negative emotions compared to those who did not attend church or attended less often.
All the way back in the New Testament when the church started, the Bible says, “Every day believers continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:46-47).
Did you notice that? Those who went to church had glad hearts. So as you make plans this weekend, don’t forget to make worship a priority. It is definitely the best medicine to make sure that next week is a ‘good week.’
