Do you live a life of regret?
I hope not! A recent study noted that “Letting go of regret is better for you emotionally.” In other words, if you constantly live regretting wrong actions, lost opportunities, or the way things turned out, you will fail to enjoy the life that you do have. Part of the reason not to live in a regret-filled state of mind is that none of us can change one thing about our past regardless of how hard we try. There are no “do-overs” in life. You get one shot at each day and then it’s gone.
Don’t misunderstand, we should all learn from our pasts in order not to repeat failures, but we can’t live in the past. If you have made some major mistakes, vow today not to repeat them and make amends wherever possible.
How should you look at your past? You should learn from it and move on. How should you move on? Micah 6:8 tells us how to procede when it says, “And what does the LORD require of you? Except…to act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
Act Justly +Love Mercy + Walk humbly. And that’s a great formula for living a ‘regret-free’ life.
Have a Blessed Day!
