Here is some good news! A 2013 Pew Research Study found that Americans overwhelmingly pray a lot! The summary of the study stated, “For many Americans, every day is a day of prayer. 55 percent of Americans said they pray every day, while another 23 percent said they pray weekly or monthly. And only 21 percent said they seldom pray.”
There is a small, vocal group of people in our country that is trying to convince the population that America is not religious, but simply stated, they are wrong and are ignoring the data.
So, how should we pray? Jesus answered that question in Matthew 6 by saying,
9 This, then, is how you should pray:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
Prayer is a time for PRAISING GOD vs.9
Prayer is a time for SEEKING GOD’S WILL IN YOUR LIFE vs. 10
Prayer is a time for REQUESTING NEEDS vs. 11
Prayer is a time for FINDING FORGIVENESS AND FORGIVING OTHERS vs. 12
Prayer is a time for ASKING PROTECTION (from temptation, from evil,) vs. 13
Think about it…and have a Prayer-Full Day!
