We have all heard the statement…A penny saved is a penny earned, and Carolyn Kellman recently stood firm on this principle. Kellman is a Florida-based lawyer who just filed a class action lawsuit against the clothing company, Forever 21.
Apparently, Forever 21 customers have been credited exactly 1 penny less than the actual purchase price of an item when they returned the item to the store. The result is a $1.5 million class action suit hoping to reclaim the lost pennies.
Now, I am not a lawyer, and I do not know if Forever 21 is guilty or not. However, it seems a little outrageous to sue over a simple penny. This is a reminder that some people and companies love money over morals and pennies over people.
Solomon, one of the wisest and wealthiest men who ever lived put money in perspective for us when he said, “Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.” (Ecclesiastes 5:10)
So as you think about money today, do not let it rule your life! Keep it in perspective—every penny of it!
Have a Blessed Day,
