Hello – this is Keith Tyler, Worship Pastor at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church with your inspirational thought of the day:
In 2013, I began a journey to run my very first Half Marathon at the age of 43. I knew if I was going to accomplish this goal, I needed help preparing for the race. I needed a plan. I knew it would take time, energy and effort. I was not perfect in following my plans, but I consistently persevered and finished my first race in March and even ran my second race in November.
Why do I share this? Because this journey for me was not only a physical exercise and goal of mine, it was a spiritual goal and reminder to me about the race God has marked out for me.
The Bible is clear in Jeremiah 29:11, my life verse, which says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”
When I followed the plan to prepare for my Half Marathon, I finished the race. When I follow the plan God has for my life, I will finish the race.
So remember, as you run your own race in life, remember God has a plan for your life. Follow it and receive the hope and peace God has for you.
