Listen to today’s Inspirational Thought
This week we have been looking at the secrets of a happy marriage. Being kind really matters when it comes to happy relationships. Marriage researchers have discovered that strong and happy marriages had 5 positive interactions for every one negative interaction. So if you want a happy marriage you need to rack up the positive connections, which is actually easier than you might think.
According to research the three easiest ways to rack up some positive vibes in your marriage are by “giving a compliment, showing appreciation for something your mate has done for you, and by doing something nice for your mate.” None of which are too difficult. And in today’s electronic age, dropping a kind text, voicemail or email can be done in a matter of seconds.
When it comes to your marriage…remember Proverbs 11:17: Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves.
So, start counting those positive interactions and watching out for the negative ones, and you will be well on your way to a happy marriage.
Have a blessed day!
