Be Spiritually Strong – May 20, 2015
Colossians 2:6-7, Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.
Let’s look at these words from the Apostle Paul, “Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and STRENGTHENED in your faith…”
Notice the word strengthened.
According to Muscle and Fitness magazine, Hugh Jackman, the “X-Men” actor just joined the 1,000 pound club. The 1,000 pound club is exclusive territory. To be part of the 1,000 pound club, the sum total of your maximum squat, bench press and deadlift has to add up to over 1,000 pounds. Joining that extremely exclusive club means that the 46 year old Jackman is in better shape than 99.9 percent of men, and if that was not enough, he is also a Wolverine. If you do not know what that means, you are not an X-Men fan.
The point is that you can’t just wake up one day and join the 1,000 pound club. It takes time and commitment to get that strong physically. The same is true in your spiritual fitness… it takes time and commitment.
Think about it…and have a blessed day!
