Genesis 1:26, Then God said, “Let Us make mankind in Our image, in Our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Over the last few weeks, we have been talking about important steps we can take to transform our lives from the way they are to the way God wants them to be.

This week I want to ask and answer the question “How Do I Deal with How I Feel?”

Our emotions are a good thing. God created us with emotions. The Bible tells us that God has emotions. He feels, loves, grieves, weeps, and is angered. The Bible also said that our emotions are a great asset. Our emotions are part of what makes us human.

“Then God said, Let us make mankind in our image….” In other words, God said, “Let’s make mankind with emotions because they are a great asset.” However, with every strength, there is a potential weakness. When it comes to weaknesses with our emotions they, come in the form of two extremes.

Those extremes are: Emotionalism on the one side, where all that matters is how we feel.
Stoicism is on the other side where we think feelings are not important at all.

And God does not want us to live our lives in either one of those extremes as emotional basket cases, nor does he want us to live our lives as Stoics ignoring our feelings.

So join me the rest of this week as we look at ”How to Deal with How we feel biblically.”

Think about it and have a blessed day!
