Do you ever feel overlooked? Do you ever feel like you are always playing second fiddle to someone else?
For years, the Los Angeles Clippers have been overshadowed by their neighbors, the Los Angeles Lakers. But this year, the Clippers were much better than the Lakers. The Clippers earned the number three seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. It was arguably the best and most successful season in the Clipper’s history, and they have earned the support of many in the city.
One Los Angeles restaurant wanted to celebrate with the Clippers and took out a full-page ad celebrating a successful Clippers season. However, due to a typing mistake, the newspaper ad celebrated the successful season of “The Lakers” and not “The Clippers.”
You have to feel a little sorry for the Clippers because no matter how well the team played, it always seemed to get trumped by the Lakers… even in an ad celebrating an amazing season.
Being overlooked is not fun. It chips away at ones self-esteem; it causes us to be unnecessarily jealous, and it causes a left-out or left-behind feeling. Do you ever feel overlooked in your daily life? REMEMBER: “God loves each and every one of us as if there was only one of us!” In other words, you never play second fiddle in God’s eyes. God never overlooks any of us- even if others do.
Think about it…and have a blessed day!
