Hi, this is Dave Marsh, the Children’s Pastor at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church with your inspirational thought of the day.
I love the book of Psalms in the Bible. The honest prayers of struggles, questions, joys and hopes in everyday life and faith are expressed in the Psalms. For example, Psalm 69 begins with these words: “Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. I am worn out calling for help; my throat is parched.” Have you ever felt like that? I have!
Yet, the Psalmist in his despair clings to the hope of God, saying, “Answer me, Lord, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me….I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.” You see, the Psalms are God’s Word, preserved for our benefit in our daily walk with Him. Jesus even used the Psalms, quoting from them in His own prayers. Take time to read and pray from the Psalms often and watch God work in you and in your family.
