Hi, this is Dave Marsh, the Children’s Pastor at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church with your inspirational thought of the day.

Life is stressful. The experts say we have an anxiety crisis on our hands. In fact, just hearing that makes me anxious. But, the Gospel gives us hope from the burden of measuring up.

The Apostle Paul provides a remedy to anxiety in Philippians 4. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

I’ve learned to start each day by reading the Bible and listening to God. Then, I copy those verses from Paul again in my computer journal and list the things that I am anxious about. Then, I present them to God. And from time-to-time I go back and highlight the anxious concerns that God has taken care of to be reminded of His faithfulness.

Rest on the promises that God offers in Christ and watch Him work in your family.
