Always Say Please And Thank You – November 20, 2015
Proverbs 11:24-25, One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
This week I have been sharing five keys to improving your attitude. The first four can be found on my daily blog page- www.johnmarkcaton.com under the Inspirational Thought tab. The fifth key to an uplifted attitude is, “Always Say Please And Thank You,” every chance you get. Being polite is not a hard thing to do, yet so often we forget these simple words, especially with those closest to us. Proof and evidence supports that if you want to improve your attitude, saying “please” and “thank you” will go a long way toward making that happen. Why is that? Because as much as we do not want it to be the case, our attitude is affected by how others respond or react to us. When we use sincere manners with others, it shows them respect, value, and importance, and the reciprocated behavior usually mirrors those qualities.
Study after study shows that in interpersonal relationships, we often get back what we give out to others. So, the more we are kind and grateful, the more other people will be kind and grateful back to us. When it comes to simply being kind remember this Proverb this weekend, “One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. 25Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered” (Proverbs 11:24-25).
Have a blessed weekend…and I hope to see you in church on Sunday!
