“Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Mark 11:22, “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
Hebrews 11:1, Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
2 Corinthians 5:7, For we live by faith, not by sight.
This week at Cottonwood Creek, I started a new teaching series entitled “Building a Great Life.” The first key to building a great life which is building our faith. In Mark 11:22, Jesus said, “Have faith in God!” Most of us know in our heads that we need to have faith in God, and probably most of us wish we had more faith in God, but how do I grow my faith? This week, I want to give you several thoughts on building and growing your faith.
The Bible says, “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” That is the hard part about living by faith. Faith is having confidence in things we don’t see. Most of us are not built this way because we are more the “seeing is believing people” types. We struggle with that idea because we don’t think we can see faith. The truth is, we can see faith; we can see it working in other people’s lives, and we can see it working in the lives of those who have gone before us. So, this week we will look at the lives of believers from Hebrews 11, and we will see specifically how we can grow our faith. Today, just remember the words of Jesus, “Have faith in God!”
Take care and have a blessed day!
