Malachi 3:10, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
I’ve been teaching a series on Sundays entitled, “Bold: Living An Audacious Faith.” Sometimes God uses finances to test your faith. Have you ever had to decide between paying a bill and giving to God? You only have so much money, where is it going to go? This is a test. God is saying, “Becoming a giver strengthens your faith!” God says in Malachi 3:10, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this…” In essence God is saying, “I dare you! I dare you to see what I will do if you become a giving, generous person.”
Do you know that there are more promises in the Bible about giving than any other subject? Jesus talked more about giving than He did about heaven and hell combined. I believe this is because giving is the essence of being like Jesus. In fact, the Bible says God is a giver. Remember what Jesus said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” When we give, it shows God that we trust in Him and believe His promises to provide for us. Giving is one way that God strengthens, stretches and test our faith.
Take care and have a blessed day!
