Does your family struggle with communication? If so, you are not alone; there is a great amount of research and literature dedicated to this current hot topic. Families seem to struggle with communication in this communication age. As a result, too many families are “communicatively incompatible.”
One researcher suggests that families (husbands, wives and kids) spend so much time emailing, Tweeting, Facebooking, Instagraming and a number of other electronic communication forms- that they forget to actually talk to each other.
In other words, we communicate so much with other people that we do not communicate with our spouse and kids, and then too often when we do communicate with our family, we use harsh words.
The Bible gives us a communication formula that will add up to success for our families and hopefully improve the family dynamic every time. It says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”(Eph. 4)
Remember, as you connect with your spouse and kids today, make sure you spend more time talking to them in person than you do talking to others online. After all, that is what really makes family fun!
Have a Blessed Day!
