What’s More Addictive than Cigarettes?

And the answer is: ”Facebook & Twitter”

Yes, you heard me right. Researchers from the University of Chicago recently released their findings that suggest that social networking services such as Facebook and Twitter are more difficult to resist than cigarettes or alcohol.

While this conclusion may seem surprising, it really isn’t. People do not see constant checking of Social Media as costly; but it is. Spending excessive time on Facebook does cost you time; it costs you real time at work, with friends, or with your family. No amount of computer time can replace real time with those we love.

It is the same way in our Spiritual lives. God says to really get connected with him you need to spend time with Him. The writer of the Book of Hebrews said, whatever you do in life, “do not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing” (Hebrews 10:24-25).

So, as busy as your life may get, do not give up your time in worship. After all, that is where you will meet some of your best friends.

See You at Church on Sunday…and Have a Blessed Day!
