The Great Shepard – December 5, 2016

Ezekiel 34:15, I myself will tend My sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord. 16I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.

From this passage, we learn that God will tend His sheep Himself. He does not pass this duty off.

He has His sheep lie down, and He searches for the lost sheep. He binds up the injured and strengthens the weak. He destroys the sleek and the strong, and He is just.

As believers, we can rest in the comforts of knowing that God, the creator of this universe, is personally watching over each of us. He cares that we are taking good care of ourselves. He desires that we don’t lose our ways in life. He does not give up on us. He is there for us when we are weak and vulnerable. In all His mighty power, God remains just and fair. In His fairness, the greatest Shepherd of all time sent His son. Christ’s humble beginning in a manger watched over by shepherds resulted in a shepherd who watches over all mankind. Accept God’s gift this year.

God loves us through His son, Jesus, in giving strength to the weak and offering justice as He, the Good Shepherd, watches over His people.

Merry Christmas from your Cottonwood Creek family.
