Never Give Up – July 7, 2016
2 Chronicles 15:7, But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.
Sir Winston Churchill took three years getting through eighth grade because he had trouble with his speech. It seems ironic that years later Oxford University asked him to address its commencement exercises.
As Churchill approached the podium, the crowd rose in appreciative applause. With unmatched dignity, he settled the crowd and stood confident before his admirers. Churchill gazed at his waiting audience and then Churchill’s voice boomed as he shouted, “Never give up!” Seconds later he leaned forward and repeated, “Never give up!” His words thundered in their ears. Churchill steadied himself and left the platform. Those reassuring words from someone that lived out that idea all his life.
Do you find yourself in need of a simple pep talk to help you through the day? Read the simple words of 2 Chronicles 15:7, “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” Here is your chance to persevere and show yourself and others the rewards of never giving up.
