Psalm 37:4, Take delight in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.
This week, I am sharing with you the top 5 most-searched Bible verses that come from the Psalms. The Psalms are a collection of 150 different psalms, songs or prayers that are categorized by genre. Yesterday, I told you the 5th most searched Bible verse in the Psalms was Psalm 46:1. The 4th most searched Psalm is Psalm 37:4 which says, “Take delight in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
Those first few words, “Take delight…” mean exactly what you think they would. They mean that we should seek to find our happiness in God alone. Why would the Psalmist tell us to do that? Because he understood that almost everything else in this world will only bring us temporary happiness. Think about it. A new car soon becomes an old car. A new shirt soon becomes an old shirt. A big win is often followed by a crushing defeat. So today, don’t forget the words of that 4th most-searched verse in the Psalms, “Take your delight in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Focus your desires on something permanent, your relationship with the Lord.
Take care and have a blessed day!
