Look Forward To God’s Gift – December 21, 2015

Galatians 4:4, But when the set time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

It’s Christmas time, and if you are not quite ready for Christmas, your time is running out. Read these words from Galatians about the timing of that first Christmas, “But when the set time had fully come, God sent His Son…” Time is an interesting thing. If you look it up in the dictionary,
time is defined as, “the system of sequential relations that any event has to another.” The key word is “sequential.” When it comes to timing, one thing has to precede another.  God’s sequence of events was complete. Hundreds of years before Christ’s birth, the Prophets told about the place where Christ would be born and the virgin who would give birth to Jesus. The angel told Mary she would become pregnant by the Holy Spirit. A census was required that would cause Joseph and Mary to journey to Bethlehem.

It is all about time and sequence. Take this week for example; to be ready for Christmas, you had to make a list, then go buy the presents, then wrap the presents, then put them under the tree, then open them up Christmas morning. The sequence is important. This Christmas don’t forget to read the Christmas story in Luke 2 as part of your Christmas sequence.

Think about it, and have a Merry Christmas!
