To Seek The Lost – December 18, 2015

Luke 19:10, For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.

This week in our Advent thoughts, I’ve shared with you that Christmas is about peace, God’s demonstration of His love, our redemption and adoption, and yesterday we read that Christmas was God’s initial step to conquering death. If you missed any of those, you can find them on my daily blog:

Here’s our final thought about Christmas for this week. Christmas is all about God desiring a relationship with you! Read these words from Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” When I look around this world it sure seems like we are lost. Our politicians are at a loss for answers to societies problems. Our world leaders are at a loss to how to bring about peace around the globe. When we look at our own lives, we are so often at a loss as to how to solve our troubles. To put it succinctly, we are lost. However, the message of Christmas is that we don’t have to stay lost. Why is that? Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost, and that includes you and me.

So, my prayer for you this Christmas is that you would be found, and that is the ultimate message of Christmas.

I hope to see you at church on Sunday, and have a Merry Christmas!
