Luke 2:25-28 (Simeon’s Prophetic Praise)
25 There was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, looking forward to Israel’s consolation, and the Holy Spirit was on him. 26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he saw the Lord’s Messiah. 27 Guided by the Spirit, he entered the temple complex. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform for Him what was customary under the law, 28 Simeon took Him up in his arms, praised God.

By being obedient to the Holy Spirit’s yielding, Simeon got to experience the world’s eternal answer for joy, laying in his arms the Messiah as a babe. We too can experience Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and can be part of His story. Especially in this time of the year as we are thankful, and give gifts, and celebrate and share so much, with so many. Don’t miss out on being part of the story and sharing the greatest gift.  In the midst of the rat race of the world, have you lost perspective? Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will obey me” (John 14:15).

Let this be your prayer: Lord, let me love You in a way where love and obedience are one in the same, and when Your Spirit speaks, help me to respond in praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
