Two Are Better Than One – January 17, 2017

Ecclesiastes 4:9, Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

1 Peter 1:22, Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.

At Cottonwood Creek, I’ve been teaching a series titled, “Life Matters More When You Honor God.” This past Sunday, I focused on the importance of relationships. God created us for relationships, and we all need a group of strong core friendships. Read Ecclesiastes 4:9, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.”

We all understand the idea of a better return from our labor. As an example, at the office we can get more done when we work in teams. God created us for relationships and His greatest desire for us is that we would not only invest our lives in others, but that we would also allow them to invest in our lives. When we do that, we will have a greater return, and what are those returns? They are things like greater joy, greater happiness, and greater life satisfaction and fulfillment. So today, don’t do life alone, invest in someone else’s life and let them invest in yours.

Think about it and have a blessed day
